Title – fourteen

Materials – paper bags, black board acrylic paint, gouache, pencil and oil

 

This is ongoing, obviously as long as time allows. The number fourteen is a framework, a scheme, a dialogue and outright critique. Then again, this work can be ontological, atheistic, psychological and pragmatic; a way to make an artwork where fiction and function deals with reality via absurdity. Can something as harmless as art be dangerous? Voltaire on absurdity: ‘those who can make you believe in absurdity, can make you commit atrocities’. Aesthetic considerations are made on familiarity, the habit of good taste, something for the non-creative. In other words aesthetics is overrated.

Difference! What difference?

Enough.
